Tígel Üpplecút

Human interáction is shitty; let's play Magic!

T1: Duress.
T2: Kiln Fiend.
T3: Aphotic Wisps, Manamorphose, Bolt, Lava Dart, flashback - dead ya?
Seems fun.

Pretend all you want, but true to its name, Reanimator isn't dead.

Further, like Elvis, Mone-Blue Control didn't die; it just went home (3/66)... er, thought better of killing you with combat.
(Personally, since I only have two copies of JaceTM, if I build this the third slot will be Call the Skybreaker, which is like Morphling but funnier because it's better.)

Indeed, Jace is taking on a role as quite the Legacy kill-con:
- UGB Landstill, still - 8/57.
- UWb counter-top - 3/125.
- UW Landstill - 4/99.

Here Storm-Combo cuts the Chants for more discard to simplify the colors and squeeze in 2x Cabal Ritual + Ill-Gotten Gains to take 1/45; it's a trade-off. A crafty opponent can hide FOW from the discard effects and/or pick it up with Divining Top, plus flipping IGGy off Ad Nauseum is miserable. This build also gives up on Diminishing Returns off Burning Wish. No one said it would be easy.

It'll be interesting to see how Merfolk changes up its game post-Scars. The new blue lord seems better than Sovereign, particularly if you're using it to drop and gear up Equipment on the cheap, but gear is a non-bo with Kira. Choices between these sorts of powerful options are the sort of problem Merfolk players are glad to have, I reckon.

EVEN MORE BRIEFLY NOTED:

WW/g Death&Taxes 8/204 EXCLAMATION POINT! Plus this bonus (1/25) feat. Student of Warfare. If Stoneforge Mystic wasn't so effing good I could totally see the new cat-boss that effs up shuffles here, but I'm just not sure.

- ONE-land Belcher, now with 100 percent less black, 1/34 thanks to M11's contribution of red Rituals 5-8.

- GW Vengevine Survival. I don't get it and I kinda don't want to until Vengevines get cheaper, but it's there: 1/58.

- That UB/r Faeries deck is STILL hungry.

- Also, Goblins is still a deck. Mogg War Marshall and Gempalm Incerator = friends, hey?

- Another silly Mono-Blue artifact-combo deck.

Until next time,

Hide.
